Dr. Zach Bastick is an expert on digital migration studies and digital politics. His research focuses on how technology empowers and disempowers, and how it might better serve communities and marginalized populations. His recent work has investigated the digital exclusion of migrants, including their attitudes towards technology and exposure to misinformation. His work also examines power structures produced or influenced by digital technologies and multi-level governance related to migration. Dr. Bastick is also a research affiliate at the University of Oxford and Harvard University, and he has previously held research and teaching positions at the European University Institute, the Sorbonne University, UC Berkeley, and Sciences Po Paris, among other institutions.
