Social Inclusion and Access to Basic Services of Third-Country Nationals (AccessIN)

Call for Country Experts: Belgium, Germany, Hungary, & Spain

The AccessIN project aims to contribute to the ongoing efforts to tackle Third-Country Nationals' social vulnerabilities by focusing on four EU Member States from different European regions: Belgium, Germany, Hungary, and Spain. It proposes a series of activities aiming at identifying and reducing barriers in access to services via a transversal and multi-sectoral approach that covers five core policy areas: healthcare, housing, education, employment, and social assistance. In line with the EU's Action Plan on Integration and Inclusion 2021 -2027, our project acknowledges that ensuring inclusion for all and targeted support requires a whole-of-society approach. Our project’s actions thus respond to public authorities' interest in further improving regulations on access to basic services, while working closely with first-line practitioners, civil society organizations and migrants to enhance social inclusion.

Within the framework of our AccessIN project, we are looking for scholars with expertise in the fields of migration and social policy for each of the countries the project focuses on (Belgium, Germany, Hungary and Spain). The experts will be tasked to assist the AccessIN team by collecting data for its policy survey and report related to the conditions of access to five basic services at the national and sub-national levels of different categories of Third-Country Nationals in each of the examined countries. The selected experts will receive training and guidelines in relation to their tasks, as well as a remuneration. The expected starting date is March 2023.

The tasks of the experts will include:

-Provide the answers to five codebooks related to the conditions of access of Third-Country Nationals in healthcare, housing, education, employment, and social assistance.

-Write one descriptive report with the results of the data collection.

Interested experts must submit their CVs and a short statement of maximum 300 words justifying the relevant skills and experience they have to perform these tasks, via email to Angeliki Konstantinidou (A.Konstantinidou@uliege.be), by February 28 2023. Also, please do not hesitate to contact Angeliki should you have any queries about the Call and our project.
